The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has commended the Osun State Deputy Governor, Prince Kola Adewusi, for what it described as his contributions to governance, youth engagement and student-related matters in the state.
In a statement signed by the Zone D Coordinator, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode (BILLIONCODES), the student body said its assessment of the Deputy Governor was informed by its experience representing students and its engagement with stakeholders within the state.
NANS Southwest noted that Adewusi has served as Deputy Governor since the commencement of the current administration in 2022, while also overseeing responsibilities relating to Sports and Special Needs.
The student body said his role within the administration had also included working alongside Governor Ademola Adeleke in the implementation of government programmes, adding that it considered stability and accessibility important elements of effective leadership.
The Zone recalled its previous engagement with the Osun State Government on education and student welfare, during which Adewusi was among government officials acknowledged for their contributions to the student constituency.
In 2025, Adewusi represented Governor Adeleke at the International Youth Day celebration in Osogbo, where technology, innovation and opportunities for young people formed part of the issues discussed.
According to NANS Southwest, such engagements demonstrate the importance of maintaining direct communication between government and young people.
The student body said the beginning of a second term provides an opportunity for the administration to deepen its focus on education, student welfare, youth employment, entrepreneurship, sports development, security and the inclusion of young people in governance.
NANS Southwest therefore called for the gains and relationships established during the first term to be strengthened, particularly in areas affecting students and young people across Osun State.
The association said it would continue to engage government constructively by recognising areas of progress while drawing attention to issues requiring further action.
It also congratulated Prince Adewusi on the commencement of another phase of service and wished him greater wisdom, strength and capacity in the discharge of his responsibilities.
The statement was signed by Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode (BILLIONCODES), Coordinator, NANS Southwest Zone D.
