The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has placed its proposed protest over the suspension of five students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, on hold.

The decision follows ongoing engagements between the student body and the university management regarding the disciplinary actions taken against the affected students.

In a statement issued by the Zone D Coordinator, Comr. Adeyemo Josiah Kayode, NANS Southwest disclosed that the management of LAUTECH had assured the organization that the matter would be presented before the University Senate for review and consideration.

The student body maintained that it still views the suspension as excessive but emphasized that dialogue should be allowed to run its course in pursuit of a fair and balanced resolution.

Consequently, NANS Southwest appealed to student leaders, comrades, stakeholders, and members of the university community to remain calm, law-abiding, and patient while awaiting the outcome of the institution’s internal review process.

The organization reiterated its commitment to protecting the rights and welfare of students, adding that it would continue to closely monitor developments and reserve the right to take further action where necessary.

The case has continued to attract attention from student leaders and stakeholders across the region, with growing calls for a resolution that upholds institutional discipline while safeguarding the academic future and welfare of the affected students.
