The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has congratulated former National President of the Association and Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Students Engagement, Comrade Sunday Asefon, following his appointment as the National Director of Student Engagement and Mobilization of the City Boy Movement.

The appointment represents another significant milestone in Asefon's journey of public service, having risen through the ranks of student leadership to become one of Nigeria's leading youth advocates. Shortly after receiving his appointment letter, the former NANS President formally presented it to the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, reaffirming his commitment to strengthening student engagement, youth mobilization and national development.

Reacting to the development, the leadership of NANS Southwest Zone D, under the Coordinator, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode (BILLIONCODES), described the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of years of purposeful leadership, resilience and unwavering commitment to the Nigerian student movement.

The Zone noted that Comrade Asefon's emergence into another strategic national position reflects the confidence reposed in leaders who have consistently demonstrated competence, integrity and dedication to youth development.

"Comrade Sunday Asefon has remained committed to advancing the interests of Nigerian students and young people. This appointment is another opportunity for him to deepen youth participation in governance and promote policies that positively impact students across the country," the statement read.

NANS Southwest further commended the leadership of the City Boy Movement for identifying experienced youth leaders capable of mobilising and inspiring young Nigerians towards national development.

The Association expressed confidence that Asefon would bring innovation, inclusiveness and strategic leadership to his new office while strengthening collaboration between government institutions and the Nigerian student community.

NANS Southwest wished the former National President a successful tenure and reaffirmed its support for every genuine initiative aimed at empowering students and promoting national progress.
