NANS Southwest Congratulates National President Babatunde Akinteye, Newly Inaugurated NEC
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has congratulated the newly inaugurated National President of NANS, Comrade Babatunde Akinteye, on the formal commencement of his tenure, describing it as the beginning of a new era for the Nigerian student movement.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Southwest Zonal Coordinator, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode (BILLIONCODES), the association expressed confidence that the new administration would be distinguished by visionary leadership, principled advocacy, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare, rights, and advancement of Nigerian students.
NANS Southwest also congratulated members of the newly inaugurated National Executive Council (NEC), noting that their emergence reflects the confidence reposed in them by Nigerian students and comes with a responsibility to provide selfless service, uphold accountability, and champion transformational leadership.
The association particularly celebrated the Southwest Zone for producing three strategic national officers—the National President, the Secretary-General, and the Financial Secretary—describing the feat as a testament to the zone's longstanding tradition of ideological leadership, administrative excellence, and meaningful contributions to the Nigerian student movement.
According to the statement, the development further reinforces the confidence Nigerian students have in the Southwest's leadership capacity while placing an even greater responsibility on the zone to uphold the values of integrity, competence, unity, and service.
Comrade Adeyemo assured the National President and other Southwest representatives of the zone's unwavering support, cooperation, and commitment to the success of the new administration, expressing optimism that their collective leadership would reposition NANS as a stronger, more responsive, and more influential voice for students across the country.
The association further expressed hope that the new leadership would prioritise educational advancement, student welfare, institutional reforms, youth empowerment, and constructive engagement with relevant stakeholders in addressing challenges confronting Nigerian students.
NANS Southwest reaffirmed its readiness to work closely with the National Executive Council in advancing the objectives of the association and building a united, progressive, and impactful student movement that reflects the aspirations of students nationwide.
