NANS Southwest to First Lady: “Champion the Rescue of Our Abducted Colleagues”
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest Zone D has formally called on the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to escalate national advocacy for the release of abducted students and teachers in Oyo State.
In a statement signed by Zonal Coordinator Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode (Billioncodes), the association described the continued captivity of students in Oriire Local Government as a painful reminder of Nigeria’s security challenges.
“The Situation Demands More”
While acknowledging ongoing efforts by security agencies, NANS stated that rescue operations must not slow down until every student is accounted for.
The association urged the First Lady to:
- Use her platform to elevate the urgency of the crisis
- Advocate for improved intelligence-driven security measures
- Strengthen protective frameworks around rural schools
